Urgent Eyecare was founded by Dr. Jeffery Brooks Wood Jr. with a mission rooted in passion and necessity. As a dedicated optometrist, Dr. Wood grew increasingly frustrated by the number of patients who would come into his office on Monday mornings with eye conditions that had worsened over the weekend. Many of these patients had not received the urgent care they needed and, as a result, suffered permanent damage to their vision.
Recognizing a critical gap in the world of eyecare, Dr. Wood knew something had to change. He saw firsthand the deficiency in available care outside of regular office hours and felt compelled to act. That’s when Urgent Eyecare was born—a service designed to provide immediate, professional eye care when traditional offices are closed.
Dr. Wood’s vision was simple but profound: to ensure that no one has to wait until Monday to get the urgent eye care they need. With Urgent Eyecare, patients can now receive timely, expert treatment to protect their vision and prevent lasting damage, any day of the week.
